Gift Moves Equine Pavilion Close to Full Funding
An extraordinary gift of $5,000 from SeaComm Federal Credit Union has brought funding for construction of the Equine Pavilion to within $14,000 of its goal of $112,000 to cover all construction costs. The gift was presented in a surprise announcement by Scott Wilson, SeaComm’s President and Chief Executive Officer during the Business in the Spotlight event, held at the SLPEM, where SeaComm was one of many the sponsors. Museum President Reg Chester commented “SeaComm has been an important partner in the growth of the Museum.” With $65,000 provided by a grant administered by the St. Lawrence County Industrial Development Agency, the balance of the funding is derived from gifts and in-kind contributions. The building includes a 5,760 square foot arena and a 1,920 square foot spectator section with bleachers. It's size will accommodate horse pulls, riding and driving competitions, as well as equine education programs and auctions among other events.
