2018 Spring Exhibition

Our 36th Annual Spring Exhibition was held on June 9th and 10th. The weather made up for its past indiscretions with bright sun and cool breezes at the 36th Annual Spring Exhibition. And visitors turned out – well over 1,000 paid at the gate, plus kids, plus exhibitors and competitors, plus an amazing group of volunteers. Over 250 volunteers, not including the pull competitors or their families, per-formed over 50 different “jobs” throughout the Museum’s buildings, exhibits, and income spots such as the kitchen and the Attic Treas-ures tent. And do not forget the folks that got things ready for the show and cleaned up afterward. An estimated 2,000 people spent time at the Museum, before, during and afterward. Keeping the show fresh each year, we had new exhibits in the Walk-er Granary, the newly dedicated Heritage Fibers Building, and the Blacksmith Shop. The vertical sawmill operated for the first time in several years revealing a successful correction of the log feed rate. We planted pumpkins for an October kids event and made scare-crows to be taken home to protect our gardens.
