SLPEM Spring Exhibition / Gathering of the Orange June 9-11, 2023

In June the SLPEM held its annual Spring Exhibition along with the Gathering of the Orange Allis-Chalmers Tractor Show (GOTO). Many volunteers showed up to help throughout the weekend! We had a full schedule all 3-days with live demonstrations at the Saw and Shingle Mills, along with at the Blacksmith Shop. A quilt show was held next to the Heritage Fibers building Friday and Saturday. A Tractor Parade was held and many tractors participated traveling around the Museum grounds for all to see. We had record breaking attendance on Saturday, people filled the grounds to enjoy the entertainment! Pedal Tractor Races and Pulls were held for the younger children. Garden Tractor Pulls took place Saturday followed by the Antique Tractor Pulls on Sunday. The very first Church service was held in the Nevin Church since its restoration at the SLPEM. People filled the bleachers in the Equine Building Saturday afternoon to watch the Horse Pulls. A Womens Skillet Toss took place on Sunday morning with 22 entries total. We had live music Friday (Steelin’ Country) and Saturday (Marty Robinson) nights in the Tractor Barn. Great food was served by the SLPEM Kitchen, SLPEM Pizza Corner, Masons of Waddington, and Pig and Moo!

There was a Tractor Ride which went from the Museum to J.C. River Lanes in Waddington where they had lunch before making their way back to the Museum 34 tractors participated in the ride. 138 Allis Chalmers Tractors and 20+ pieces of Allis Equipment were present throughout the weekend filling the front lawn. 

There was a live field demo. of an Allis Chalmers Roto-Bailer along with an Allis Chalmers mounted baler loader coupled to an Allis Chalmers wagon.  

There were two Allis Chalmers running purple truck engines.

 A.C. V-12 operating generator set along with two other, A.C. Industrial Engines, displayed by the Mayer Family from Ohio. 
 
Dave Harrington from Western Nebraska was present with his 1914 Allis Chalmers Duplex, the only one in existence today.
 
There were 7 very large Allis Chalmers parts vendors at the show.
 
We had people and equipment from the following states:
New York
Vermont
Rhode Island
Pennsylvania
Maryland
Ohio
New Jersey
Indiana
New Hampshire
Florida
Nebraska
Wisconsin
Illinois
And two Canadian provinces — Ontario and Quebec.
